Throughout the pandemic and at home learning, students and teacher's lives revolved around technology. In addition, the advancements and availability of technology have shaped the way students access information. Snap circuits allow for students to explore the basic mechanisms of how technology works beginning with circuits. I purchased snap circuits 10 years ago and used it as a tool to teach students how to work collaboratively and follow diagrams and descriptions to understand how circuits work. The ones we currently have are dated and need replacement. While some students may be hesitant at first, given minimal directions, middle school students use logic and problem solving skills to ask questions, work collaboratively about the circuits they are building using the project booklet as a guide. In middle school science, students practice inquiry and exploration in order to better understand scientific concepts. Snap circuits allow for students to strategically use the knowledge gained with each project to build on their circuit boards. As the students go through each of the projects, they gain confidence in themselves and will ultimately be able to create and design their own circuits with the knowledge gained. In this age of technology and demand for jobs requiring technical skills, students gain exposure to a career that involves understanding of electricity and circuits. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student interest and excitement in the STEM field, you will ultimately help to increase their confidence in hands on learning and
