Flexible seating will allow my students a chance to be in control of their learning. The calming corner will allow my students to focus on their behavior and identify how they are feeling and ways they can calm themselves down. The area will not only be used for students who are angry or upset, but for those who are also feeling scared, missing their parents, or in need of a quick brain break. The items listed above will be used for those students in the mindfulness corner. My students have the opportunity to complete their schoolwork in a setting that is comfortable to them: at a different table, on the floor, and so forth. My goal is to make my students comfortable and feel safe in an environment beneficial to their learning.
