Let's Move the World Forward!

Funded Aug 12, 2021

Your generous donation has helped my students to learn how to use technology to access learning in a whole new way! Prior to the pandemic in 2020, my first graders who were then only in prekindergarten, were exposed to technology mostly through their parents' smartphones. As learning shifted towards remote learning, many of my students were at a disadvantage. Now as first graders, they are learning to use your donation to help create flashcards for their sight words, use sites to generate words with spelling patterns, use interactive math manipulatives to solve math problems, access online books that we otherwise lack in our classroom library, and so much more!

My students are highly engaged and work hard to practice skills learned in class. They love to learn about new ways we incorporate activities using various online interactive whiteboards. As a dual language class, students also get to practice writing strokes to create Chinese characters learned in Chinese class.

My students with special needs and English language learners particularly love using the images tool to add to their work because writing tends to be challenging for them. Students take initiative helping one another with those less confident in using technology. The academic buzz in the classroom can be heard and felt. The Covid pandemic has changed education forever, however, now my students are well prepared for it!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Ma
