My students have been off the stage for over a year due to Covid. Please help me bring music back to life with some important materials. We will use the manipulatives, such as the scarves, ribbons, and parachute to help us feel the music and to help us show emotion through music. These materials are especially helpful for students who are shy, quiet, those needing a confidence booster and even the outgoing students who feel comfortable. Some instruments are pitched, which means they play a specific note and some of these instruments are unpitched so they are used more as percussion/rhythm sounds. The boomwhackers, for instance, are each a specific pitched note so I will use them to teach what each note sounds like, i.e. A, B, C, etc. This allows us to play songs and helps the students to understand how songs are created. (Every song is developed from music notes arranged in different orders) My students and I love to perform for the community. I plan to use these instruments/manipulatives to prepare for our holiday concert and our spring concert at school. We appreciate anything you are able to do to help us to perform again.
