I would like to thank you for contributing towards helping my students grow and learn within the classroom. The resources provided are extremely helpful towards their academics and their social skills. These resources have not only helped the students but have helped me as a teacher as well. They provide an organization within myself, which in turn creates an organized and structured functioning classroom.
The beginning of the year has been off to a wonderful start as the centers provided helped the students to engage in interactive learning individually and collaboratively. Most of the resources provided were used for centers or group activities. Many of my kindergarten students entered the classroom uncertain of letters names and letter sounds. One of the resources contained different colored letters and picture cards, allowing the students to match the letters with the pictures, allowing them to learn the letter and recognize the sound using the pictures. One of my students really took to this center, enjoying making the sounds and finding the correct letter to go with the picture. This student, with the help of this center, now recognizes all of his letters and recognizes most sounds.
The calendar provided is also very useful. Every morning, as an entire class, we go over the date, days of the week, months of the year, and weather and season. This calendar has provided many engaging, interactive lessons on days, months, numbers, and patterns. Students enjoy the magnetic calendar as they place the days, date, and weather of the day each morning.
I thank you for the labels and large notebook pads, for they were and still are used a great deal. I used the labels to label everything in the classroom. This provided a sense of print, allowing the students to see everything has a name and a place. The labels were especially useful within the library. The students know where a book must go and which bins are for certain books. We use the large notepad paper for anchor charts from lessons. We have created a room full of letters with pictures to go along with each letter and each picture. Many of my students often look around the room for the labels or the notepads to find words they need help spelling.
As the year moved on and students grew academically, more resources would be available to them. The students would light up, squealing with excitement as I opened a new box with new materials. They would be so excited I would have to calm them down, often waiting several minutes for them to relax for me to explain the material. The students really enjoy working together and helping one another as they work together, having fun fixing out the use of the materials. The smiles on the students' faces provide such a warmth in the heart and I thank you for providing resources that allow the classroom to become such a loving, learning environment.
As I continue to provide quality education towards my students, I will always be appreciative of everything you have given my class. I couldn't thank you enough.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jessup
