  • Tennis Anyone?

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our students and helping to introduce a sport that they otherwise would not have gotten to experience. The tennis balls and foam balls have made such a positive impact on the student's physical education experience. They are learning how to strike the ball from the side, overhand and underhand. Also, they are having a great time tracking the ball when they strike it against a wall and also volley with a partner. The foam balls have allowed us to vary the stations based on ability and activity. I'm so grateful that we share a common belief of the importance of physical education and tennis in public schools. Thank you, I'm forever grateful.”

  • Let's Learn How to Throw

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you for supporting our project! You have made a lasting, positive impact on all of our students, in so many ways. They are safely learning the techniques and developing the skills to overhand throw a ball. The soft fleece balls not only allow the students to throw without hesitation but it also provides other students with the opportunity to catch the ball without fear of being injured. It's wonderful to see their confidence growing, the joy in their faces as they succeed and the happiness as they work with a classmate and friend to reach a common goal. The beanbags that you have also donated have allowed us to introduce a variety of games and activities that the students love. Thank you again for your donation and belief in the importance of physical education.”

  • Hockey Love

    Funded Dec 20, 2023

I am so pleased to tell you that the students love the hockey equipment that you donated. Prior to our "striking an object with an implement" unit, I would estimate that 75% of the students did not know anything about hockey. Now they have been exposed to the sport and the skills that go along with it. We discovered that there are some real hockey players in our school! The biggest challenge for the students has been passing the puck to a partner, but they know how to hold the stick correctly, how to shoot the puck and their stick handling skills improved throughout the unit. Thanks again for your generosity and kindness. I'll always remember what you did for our school.”

  • Gym Equipment Please!

    Funded Jan 2, 2024

Thank you for everything that you have done for our school. The equipment came at just the right time because the students have been working in stations. Many of the stations involve striking an object with an implement. Examples include, volleyball with the Voit balls that you donated, balancing the yarn balls on a paddle, throwing and catching the yarn balls, beanbag toss at bowling pins and tossing the Voit balls. The kids really love the equipment. They are respectful when using it and they take care of it. You have made such a positive impact on the students, not only with the new equipment but also as an example that there are kind people in the world that are willing to help them.”

  • Art Program Without Supplies

    Funded Jan 12, 2023

Thank you 🙏 so much for your kindness and generosity. Your donation enabled us to have an Art Expo in April. Hundreds of parents turned out to see our school completely decorated with the student's art pieces. Our students were thrilled to have the supplies to create these wonderful art pieces and eager to learn the techniques that make every art work stand out. Our school has welcomed many migrant students in recent months and those students are the so appreciative of the supplies that you provided for us. You have made such a positive impact in their lives.”

  • Singing in the School Year!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

I cannot express how grateful our entire school community feels towards your generosity. We were a school which basically did one performance a year. We honestly didn't have the equipment to put on a show in our auditorium. Now, because of you, we have had twelve performances so far this year and many more on the way. The wireless microphones and sound system are loud, clear and simply perfect. The students confidence and stage presence is beyond anything we could have imagined. They clearly are comfortable on stage and loving the microphones. Lastly, the students are appreciative and respectful of the equipment. Thank you again for making such a positive impact on our entire school community.”

  • Help Get This Show On The Road

    Funded Sep 14, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and these materials. The charts and lessons have been used daily to teach the students vocabulary, stage presence and acting skills. Our school has completed eleven stage performances so far this year! Your donations have helped provide the students with confidence and love for performance arts. Since this was a new program at our school you have also directly helped me in ways that I cannot express. I too have gained confidence in how to teach performance art and how to address the individual student needs. Thank you again for making such a positive impact on our school.”

  • Keep Us Safe

    Funded Sep 29, 2021

Thank you for your kindness! You have made such a positive impact on our class. The kids are being responsible with the supplies and we are using them to keep out classroom sanitized. Interestingly enough our class has been the only classroom in the school that has had consistent attendance. Also, we are one of the few classes in our school that hasn't had a closure due to Covid 19. The students use these supplies to not only keep the room and themselves clean but also each day before lunch. Thank you again for making this possible.”

  • Scholastic News for School

    Funded Aug 16, 2021

Thank you again for this wonderful gift! It is helping the students in so many ways and they look forward to it each week. The students have told me that they love the wide range of topics and genres that are included in each issue. They discuss the articles in small groups, whole class and at home with their families. This magazine has also benefited the students by including skill builders that are assigned twice a week and completed by the students. This is an opportunity for them to share their thoughts in written form in addition to verbally. We love this magazine!”

  • Artist Requesting Paint

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

Thank you for considering our class and making that generous donation! You have made such a positive impact on the students well being and creativity. Each morning, the students arrived to school and we would spend 30 minutes talking and working on art projects. They loved coming in, grabbing their watercolor packs and brushes and getting to work. They have drawn, colored and painted some of the most breathtaking art pieces that I have ever seen. Their confidence has grown, as has their social skills and willingness to take chances. Thank you again for doing this for us. I will always be grateful for your kindness and I am looking forward to doing other projects with next year's class.”

This is a school that is located in Long Island City, New York. We are a Title One school and the students come from low income housing. Many of our students have recently migrated to New York and every student in our school receives free breakfast and lunch. Our school houses over 600 students and they need all of the extra support that your donations supply. Our physical education equipment is meager and outdated. Often we have to skip lessons and units in physical education because we do not have the proper equipment.
