Healthy Choices!
Funded Oct 19, 2022These texts in the Scholastic magazines are getting my 7th grade students excited about current events in health and helping them learn about issues that they have questions about. We have been able to use the reading in class to brainstorm questions that we have about the topics and learn about "health current events" because there are so many weird and fantastic changes happening in the middle school aged body they are excited to learn and understand a little bit more about the what and the why of their health.
My students are able to complete small reading groups and have taken up an advocacy role in the school and community by creating materials to educate their peers on topics they learn about initially through these scholastic magazines. They love having something to hold and pictures to look at instead of just reading from their chromebooks. I am extremely grateful and we thank you for your donation.”

Here's the Dill- Pickleball Project!
Funded Nov 30, 2021Our class was able to learn the game of pickle ball, movement skills, and teamwork through using our new pickle ball paddles, balls, and net! My kids loved being able to learn a new recreational sport and loved working with something that they could find challenging and fun. Most of the students had never heard of pickle ball and looked at the new game with anticipation and excitement. It was a really special experience seeing my kids grow in their confidence as they used the equipment to learn those new manipulative skills and challenge themselves to compete against their classmates in games. We even had so much excitement around this unit that we hosted a school wide pickle ball tournament with each grade represented and a school assembly to cheer them on.
Our next steps are to continue to explore the games that we can play and the things we can do to challenge our selves and keep active! Upcoming units include introducing students to fitness activities like cardio drumming and more recreational activities like disc golf! Thank you so much for creating lifelong movers and learners. I can't thank you enough!”
