These resources will promote language use and practice interpersonal skills as students discover and practice academic content with a partner or small group. Students will increase their fine motor skills as they handle concrete objects, which will help them with writing. Joyous learning can emerge as children talk and create. During covid, many students have been isolated from diverse peers, and they have missed guidance in learning to work with others in these crucial years. These resources will support ELA RF.1.3, ELA RF 1.4, ELA SL 1.1, by practicing phonics and word recognition skills, and inspiring situations for extended language use. Building geometric forms and playing domino games, and designing math stories with block sets supports standards 1.OA.6, and 1.OA.1, and 1.G.2.
