Classroom Library Books
Funded Nov 25, 2022I want to again say thank you for the donation you made to buy books for my classroom library. Students are loving the new books and growing as learners!
The books you bought for my sixth graders are on all different reading levels to go along with the diversity of students in my school. Students take turns checking out books from my classroom library every few weeks. The check-out project is student led. Then, students read the books during silent reading time or in conjunction with books and quizzes on getepic.com.
Not only are students enjoying the process of reading and learning new things, but their scores on standardized tests are dramatically increasing too! I am super proud of them and exceptionally grateful for your donation! Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Miller

Funded Jul 24, 2021I want to send you a huge thank you for funding my classroom library project. As a teacher of English Learners, it is important to me that students see themselves in what they read. The majority of the books I was able to purchase depict characters from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
From the moment I opened the box in front of my students, it was evident that they were drawn to the books. It took them no time at all to find a book they wanted to read. One of the most popular books has become the graphic novel "Twins" which star two African American girls. One of my students had pointed out that my classroom library tended to have more 'boy' books than 'girl' books. I immediately knew that adding 'girl' books to my classroom library was a priority, and these books filled that need.
With these books, I have been able to see students make progress toward the goal of becoming independent readers. I again say, "Thank you so very much for your support!"”
With gratitude,
Ms. Miller
