For many years the Primary Students (1st - 3rd) have had their own small Library in our small town school. Due to budget cuts in our community and state, the 1st through 3rd grade Library is being moved to the main Library for the 4th - 12th grade students. The main Library is very professional looking, with a fabulous spiral staircase, but it isn't inviting for the younger students. This project will provide a place that is inviting to encourage reading and STEM learning in the younger students.
Reading levels for our younger students will be increased due to the newly formed "specials" regular Library class that is being started this school year with all students in the Primary and Elementary. Library lessons will be designed throughout the school year that will utilize the portable Lego board, as well as providing fun and innovative rewards for students who meet their reading goals throughout the school year.
