A school store will give students an opportunity to earn as they learn. Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) is a school-wide approach to help all students master social skills necessary for academic success. A PBIS store is a place where students take the tickets or punch cards that they’ve earned for demonstrating positive behavior in exchange for prizes. Students will be given an opportunity to shop at the school store when they work towards their academic and behavioral goals. This allow students to be motivated to reach their goals knowing they will have the opportunity to shop when they have mastered a goal. The school store will also help lower distracting behavioral situations and motivate positive behaviors which allows more learning opportunities for all students. In addition, a school store will help build school spirit and support our tier 1 of PBIS which improves social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students.
