Primary students love to learn about the world around them, therefore I am hoping to expand our library's nonfiction section with leveled readers that will better support our emerging readers. Good quality leveled readers will give our primary students the confidence to explore reading and grow as readers. Nonfiction texts help our students to gain background knowledge to support classroom learning. Which in turn, allows our teachers to expand the student's knowledge base through real-world project-based scenarios. We strive to have a collaborative approach between classroom learning and library time. Encouraging students to use their free reading time to explore aspects of the classroom projects they are most intrigued by.
