My school is a Title 1 school with a high percentage of students of color. I have noticed over the last year that the books I have that made them feel seen were often the ones checked out from my personal library at all times. By building my library to be more culturally responsive, I will be able to help encourage and foster their love for reading and get the parents involved as well. Many of my students are multiple grade levels below reading level, so I have included a variety of reading levels to reach the most students.
