My school is recently beginning the dual immersion program, so I do not have a large collection of Spanish books. My second grade students must advance in two academic languages all while hoping they develop an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read about superheroes and villains. My classroom library does not have a large collection of Spanish books, so I would like to have Spanish books that will hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom. Struggling readers will often pick up a comic book because the visuals are less intimidating than a typical book. Students who read about these laughable characters find reading fun and begin to read for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn that reading is stress free helps build successful readers. Books with superheroes and humor are the perfect fit for reluctant readers. My bilingual students will love getting their hands on these Spanish humorous books.
