First graders do a lot of big math learning - we begin with addition and subtraction within 20 and "counters" of various colors can make this learning more concrete. First grade mathematicians will also begin breaking double-digit numbers into tens and ones - tricky stuff for little ones, and unifix cubes can be so helpful! We will finish the year exploring time on analog clocks, and the various attributes of different shapes - both 2D and 3D. Please help me give this kiddos the best math learning experience this year!
