These tools and supplies will help my students succeed in the classroom and beyond! These tools will help them in their writing, social-emotional regulation, sensory regulation, and social skills. My students, many of them having Autism, benefit greatly from tools that help calm their anxieties and unregulated feelings. I want to make my classroom a calming environment where students are able to learn valuable social-emotional and academic skills. When students learn to regulate their emotions, they are better able to communicate what they need and want and attend to academic and social situations. The items I have chosen will create this calming environment and also provide extra support in my student's weaker areas. Sensory tools, such has putty and kinetic sand, will help students calm their emotions and take their mind off the current difficulties and anxieties. Light filters and essential oil diffuser will create a calmer classroom environment. Book boxes will give students the opportunity to choose their own books that uplift their moods. My students often struggle with writing and the dashed handwriting line stamp will provide that extra support during writing time. Overall, these tools create a positive and encouraging environment where students can make progress and gain confidence in their abilities. I look forward to hopefully making this positive change in my classroom and for my students this year. Thank you!
