Creating a culturally relevant grade-level class library allows for the student to practice their phonics and reading skills within the classroom. This library will motivate the students to utilize the reading skills they are learning with interesting books from the class library in. which they have used. Educational research has shown students who have access to a diverse library of grade-level books are more likely to improve their reading skills. In addition, building the students reading skills can greatly impact their writing skills. By helping me create this library for my students, you are helping me to improve my students reading and writing skills.
