The building items such as the marble maze, puzzle and creative play items will be used as break time and cool-down items; being that many of my students love to build and demonstrate building as one of their strengths. The plush seating and wiggle seat cushions will be used for my students who prefer certain textures or have difficulty sitting still as part of their disability. It also works for my students that need a cooling-area as well. The sensory items such as the water sticks and other items will help students with stemming, cooling-off and distractions. The picture system and the emotions flipbook will help my students who are lower-functioning and non-verbal. This provides them communication pieces that will benefit them in their learning and understanding. All of these items will help my students with learning, coping, and curbing undesired behaviors. All of these items have a home in our classroom, but I have been known to send some items home with students that seem take a liking and prove beneficial to the student in both the school and home setting. My students have personally requested some of these items and our current budget and vending options do not offer the possibility of them receiving such items any other way.
