  • 'Projex' With K-Nex and Meccano Sets

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

    We have had a BLAST so far working with the K-Nex. Our first models were to create rocket ships and afterward we made our own robots connected to rubber bands.

    We appreciate your donations and your commitment to our students. My initiative this year was to find ways to make our literacy curriculum more interesting, what a better way than to apply tactile learning to reading! We were able to connect some of our building projects to the texts we work with in the classroom. This making learning meaningful and fun at the same time.   • Come Jam Out With Us! for 2024's Classroom Celebrations!

    Thank to all who have helped give the sound of music to our classroom! We have had several parties and celebrations in our class because of your support.

    There are many studies that show how music can have a positive impact on student learning. Kids especially in elementary school love music and enjoy singing and dancing. The students favorite activity is to sing karaoke to their favorite tunes. We also have incorporated study music and lo-fi to our class during literacy periods. The students have stated it keeps them focused and makes them feel more awake when working.

  • Crafting Up a Storm in 5th Grade

    We had a blast working with the cricut! We made a few medallions with elephants, sunflowers, elephants, and more.

    Students used their medallions on their letters we are writing for Writers Workshop.

    We began discussing what a cricut is and how does it works. I described its similarity to a 3D printer, and many students were excited about future art projects. Our next projects will use various materials for student made and student designed pieces of art, and I can not wait to see them! Thank you so much for your donation, we thank you for this opportunity to do more with STEM.”

  • Hear the Magic!

    I want to personally thank you for the opportunity for my students to "Hear the Magic!"

    My students were excited to finally listen to music as they worked, listen to videos independently to learn and tap into their senses as they do work.

    The class loves these headphones. They said they work better than onces they have used in grades past and are extremely thankful.

    I also want to thank ConEdison for their continuous support in our classrooms. We appreciate your generosity and providing opportunities for out students to learn from audible modalities and further close the gap on inequities.”

  • Basic Needs for Exceptional Students

    Thank you for your continuous support. This time of year is hard to keep everyone safe and healthy to learn. With these supplies, we can help keep the germs away. Recently we have been finishing a tissue box almost every day and this will definitely make a large impact on our class's flow so students do not go to the bathroom as often and can participate in more lessons.

    Additionally, with bounty towels, we can continue to work on our STEM and Art prospects that th3 kids love so much.
