All students learn differently. The students in my classroom are amazing students with a variety of special needs. Most students with special needs have sensory issues. They often tend to get a sensory overload, and sometimes may need some sensory stimulation. There are many benefits of sensory play such as building nerve connections to the brain, helping to develop motor skills and supporting language development. Through this project my students will be able to use these sensory items to reduce stress and learn how to use special items to foster positive learning experiences. I have personally seen how students can overcome the overwhelming struggles throughout the school day through using sensory items.
