This year will be my first year providing speech therapy services at a newer school. As such, most of the shelves in the speech room are bare and there are few resources/materials available for my students. I am putting this project together in order to help my students receive some articulation and language decks. Articulation decks are used everyday in speech therapy to address students' speech goals. They engage the students to practice their sounds as they display colorful pictures and functional words that students say in everyday settings. Language decks are also used everyday in speech therapy to address students' language goals (receptive and expressive). They address specific targets and provide students with multiple opportunities to practice that target (e.g., irregular past tense verbs), so that their language and overall communication skills can improve. By donating to this project, you will not only improve students' speech and language skills, but also increase their confidence in communicating with their family, peers, and teachers. This increased ability to communicate will help them succeed in the academic setting.
