Snuggle Up and Read II
Funded Oct 13, 2022Thank you so much for the blankets, books and stuffed animals for the children in my classroom. With these books not only did you help me to foster a love of reading but also affirmations for these children to let them know how special they are.
Parents have commented on how their children are learning the alphabet and self esteem from this book.
I took the blankets and put each child's name on their blanket, usually in their favorite color. The children loved seeing their name on the blanket making it theirs.
Finally, the stuffed animals were a huge hit! Many of their eyes lit up when I handed them their very own stuffed animal.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you!”

Heeeyyy Baby!
Funded Sep 7, 2022The children were so excited to see the new additions of babies to our classroom! I knew my girls would be very excited to play with these dolls, but I was shocked at the boys that wanted to feed, diaper and love on these dolls. I love watching them feed their baby, change their clothes and rock them in the baby bed.
This is how we create loving and attentive children that will one day become loving and attentive parents! I am so thankful that donors back all my ideas such as this so I can bring life lessons to my classroom.
Your donations don't just pay for toys, but those life lessons!”

Funded Apr 7, 2022Thank you so much for donating to my STEM project! I love to watch the "wheels" turn in my student's heads while trying to figure out how to build their masterpieces. I have seen a change in the way they play with the regular blocks after they played with the STEM toys. Their favorite thing to do is build dinosaurs, cars, towers and houses. I purchased the flower building STEM toy with the girls in mind, but was surprised when all the children loved playing with them.
I love the idea that we are educating tomorrow's inventers, scientists, doctors, etc. Because of your donation, I was able to make my goal a reality.”

Funded Dec 2, 2021My students love the new rug that we got! This rug is very nice, large enough for my entire class to sit comfortably. Most importantly it's clean! As I described in my original post, we use the letters and pictures on the rug in many different ways. My favorite part is that I can assign seating and if I child doesn't know a letter just yet I can tell them to sit on the corresponding picture. For example, if I want a child to sit on the letter D, I would tell them in the beginning of the year to sit on the dog. Not only will this teach the child what the letter looks like, but letter sound as well.
I put the rug down one afternoon after all the students had gone home for the day. They all were very excited the following day when they got to school. The children that arrived first even met newly arriving students at the door to show them the new rug.
They are also being very careful not to spill anything on the rug. One child got dirt on the carpet and the other children fussed at him and went to the home living center to get a broom to get the dirt up quickly.
Thank you for supporting my classroom!”

Snuggle Up and Read
Funded Nov 15, 2021Thank you so much for helping me give the gift of reading to my students! My students snuggled up with their blankets and stuffed animals to listen to a book. I read the very simple book to them as they listened. We discussed all the beautiful pictures that were in the book. This book has very few words, so my students have been able to "read" the book along with me! I love to watch these young readers enjoying the stories that are read to them. I am hoping the next time they find themselves at home on a cold or rainy day, they will remember to just snuggle up and read!”

Funded Oct 25, 2021Our students are loving their new equipment! There is usually a line waiting to slide down the slide. With the obstacle course, I showed them how to set it up and they have had a great time rearranging it to make it harder and easier to navigate. I love to see children challenge themselves, only to think they are playing.
When the supplies started coming into the school the children were so excited! The balls that we got with the cute animals on them are very popular with the children. They love that they have a basketball goal that is size appropriate for them!
Finally the sidewalk chalk it ALWAYS a huge hit! They draw and "write" all over their playground sidewalk.
Thank you all for your support of my classroom!”

Funded Jul 30, 2021Today I watched as my students pretended to shop for groceries, bought them, and then take them "home" to cook them. They then served me the delicious meal they created. I was able to "eat" the food and discuss with them everything they did to be able to serve food. I love watching my students using their imagination, playing with one another and even helping each other out. It means that world to me that so many of my friends contributed to the success of this project being funded. Now I will tell you a funny story that happened this morning. Girl A tells girl B that they have to go to the store to get some fish to fry. Girl B says when they get to the store that they need some fish and some "shorty" (shorting). They went on to discuss and "purchase" other items. When they get home Girl A tells girl B that she needs to wait to cook the fish because that shorty is not hot enough to fry fish. I was thankful for having to wear a mask, it covered the huge grin on my face!
Love to all!”

Cots for Tots
Funded Jun 24, 2021I wanted to let you know that I have gotten the cots that you funded for my classroom. I want you to know that not only are all my children currently sound asleep on their cots as I write this letter, but they love that they have their own space to feel secure. They all fell asleep in record time today and I think it is because of the cots! I would also like to thank my amazing husband that helped me to put all these cots together. These cots are very well made and will last for many years to come.
With my love and gratitude,
