Organization is Key!
Funded May 5, 2024My students and I so appreciate your kind and very generous donations to our classroom! We can’t wait to redo our library with the new book bins that your donations have supplied!
Lakeshore materials last forever, and I’m so excited to begin using these bins as soon as they arrive at PS 155! My students and I will also be using the bins to organize our notebooks by subject, which will help my students locate what they need in a timely manner.
I cannot adequately express how much your donation means to us! It is a rare occurrence that we ask for some thing one day and within 24 hours it is fulfilled — my heart is full and my students and I will be jumping for joy at the site of these new materials! Thank you -thank you - thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gill
Hands-On Learning RULES!
Funded Aug 1, 2023My students absolutely love the hands-on materials your donations have provided! When they work in small groups, they are able to use the small dry-erase boards to work on problems together as well as follow individual task directions.
The hands-on math and word work materials are also well-used and loved in our classroom!
We thank you so very much for your donations in order to make all this happen! My students now have access to an array of hands-on materials to show their learning. These materials are vital to my students' ability to visually see their learning and likewise show their learning to others. They use the dry-erase magnetic boards as well as the wooden math manipulative materials daily!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kleenex and 4 other donors.College- and Career-Bound: ALL Children Deserve Bright Futures!
Funded Jul 19, 2022During this holiday season my students and I would like to send you a GIANT thank you for your contributions toward making our classroom not only "college and career ready" but also a calming and pleasant place to spend our days learning together!
If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have our beautiful charts reminding us to have a Growth Mindset, materials to help us with STEM learning, and social-emotional resources on every student desk!
As you celebrate with your families and loved ones this season, please remember how thankful we are to you for all that you've given us in PS 155's Room 301!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gill
Seat Yourself
Funded Nov 29, 2021Thank you so very much for your generous donations which have allowed my students choices in where and how they sit to complete assignments and projects!
My students absolutely LOVE sitting on the ball seats and they use the pillows during group projects on the rug. I have also incorporated the seating options into my "Calming Corner" so that students can physically be comfortable as they calm their bodies and minds down prior to Conflict Resolution, guidance sessions or simply 2-minute "brain breaks".
Your gifts 🎁 have truly made a difference in the lives of my students! During this holiday season, take a moment to feel proud 🤩 that you have helped make a student's day at PS 155 just a little bit brighter!
I have posted photos so you can see just how happy 😃 the students are to be sitting comfortably. Their smiles are even visible through face masks and in their bright and joyful eyes!”

For the Love of Books! 🥰
Funded Jun 14, 2021I want to let you know that my students are thoroughly enjoying all of the beautiful books your donations were able to fund! Many of my students are differently-abled and have specific Learning Disabilities that negatively affect their ability to read and comprehend grade-level books. That is why books like "Big Nate" are so important. This is the book we started with during "Book Clubs" last month... and one of the books I was able to purchase with your donations! A school Book Club runs just like an adult one —with students reading one chapter or section of text at a time and then discussing what they have read. They ask each other questions and try to push thinking to higher levels through open discussion.
Because "Big Nate" looks like any other 5th grade chapter book on the outside (with many pages), my students report that they don't feel embarrassed or like they are reading a "baby book." This is vitally important to their self-esteem, as 5th graders are about to embark on middle school, and need all the confidence we can impart.
Although books like "Big Nate" look the same as other books on the outside, they definitely aren't the same on the inside. "Big Nate" is written at a level that my students can decode and comprehend —and is written in cartoon-form. The kids truly get lost in it's hilarious pages and I hear them discussing particular lines of text or quotes from Nate.
I can't thank you enough for your gift to my students! Many of them were jumping up and down when I told them at the end of our Book Club unit that the books we read were theirs to keep—either to begin or add to their personal libraries. I thank you all again for all that you have given to my class! Your gift is so very appreciated!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gill
