The best thing about 6th grade students is they learn best by doing. A new robot will allow my students to design robots that can do a specific task, learn about coding-making the robot do what you want, and give them the opportunity to compete in First Lego League. My project will require students to design, modify, and write code so the robot can perform different tasks. This will require students to think about variables and plan for the unforeseen. This will help students develop math, science, and critical thinking skills. It will also help them prepare for competition and careers in robotics, engineering, and technology fields.
