  • The Essentials for Class

    Funded Feb 12, 2025

Thank you so much for getting this project funded. As you know, money is tight for schools in a title 1 area, so every donation really matters. These essential items go a long way in our day to day use. You are making a big difference in these kids lives!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ricks

  • Esports, Time to Compete !

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Thank you so much for the donations to my classroom. I can finally say I am excited for this new year because of your donations. This year we will be competing against other middle schools in the PLAYVS league. Were hoping to do our best and win some competitions. Most importantly we want the kids to learn to work together and compete vs how they play at home. I believe this is going to have to same effect as playing a sport, in the sense that they will be part of a team and be working together. The students are super excited! Thank you so much!”

  • Make Kids Read Again!!!

    Funded May 22, 2024

Thank you for funding this project. My students took a test today and I can't describe the difference it makes to have books that they actually want to read. Their faces lit up when they saw the variety of manga I had for them. It's one of the first times I had students go to grab books and actually looking happy while reading . I know kids today are very particular about what they read or if they read at all, so it makes me very happy to see a student interest in any book. Thank you so very much, I am happy that you gave my classroom the materials needed to have my students read again.”

  • Bringing our Art to Life!

    Funded May 15, 2024

I am writing to share the remarkable impact that the addition of a 3D printer has had on my classroom and the learning experiences of my students. This technology has not only enhanced their educational journey but also fostered a deeper sense of collaboration, creativity, and excitement about learning.

    Enhancing Learning Through Hands-On Experience

The introduction of the 3D printer has revolutionized the way my students engage with the curriculum. Traditional teaching methods, while effective, often limit students' ability to fully grasp abstract concepts. However, with the 3D printer, my students are now able to physically interact with the concepts they are learning.

For example, in our recent geometry unit, students were able to design and print 3D models of different geometric shapes. This hands-on experience allowed them to better understand the properties of each shape, such as edges, vertices, and faces, by physically manipulating their models. This tactile learning experience was particularly beneficial for students who struggle with visualizing complex concepts in a two-dimensional format. They could see, touch, and explore the shapes, leading to a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

    Bringing Student Creations to Life

One of the most exciting aspects of having a 3D printer in the classroom is the ability for students to see their digital creations come to life.”

  • WAMS Esports Expansion

    Funded Mar 26, 2024

Thank you for helping change my students lives! My students are all super excited to play on the PlayStation 5s. We are also using it as an incentive for the students to show up to school and not get in trouble. We are going to create a game day at the end of the school year where the students are going to be allowed to play games and have a fun day! The students are trying really hard so that they do not miss out on this event! My esports students are also all super excited to play the games and compete against one another.”

  • Tangible American History

    Funded Mar 13, 2023

Thank you so much for investing, not only in me but my students. I can't tell you how much this has helped my students learn in my class. The carpet of the world map helped me explain so much to my students. It made for fun activities where my students even used little army men figures to show how Napoleon invaded the rest of Europe. I catch my students all the time looking at different posters I have in my classroom, especially the poster of all the presidents. This little project has gone a long way in my opinion and for that I really want to thank all my donors for helping my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ricks

  • Woodland Acres Esports Project

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations. This Nintendo switch has helped my team be able to compete one another. We are 1 step closer to competing in online tournaments. You have helped create a competitive and fun environment in our school. This will impact many of my students for the rest of their lives. My students for the past year have been able to compete against one another and even gain new friends. Since getting the switch we have even expanded the club to be in the morning and afterschool and are even doing tabletop games. I am extremely happy and extremely grateful!”
