  • Various Seating and Adjusted Lighting For All Students

    Thank you so much for your donations! They have added so much to the classroom and students learning. My students loved the dimmed lights from the light covers. They also enjoy the carpet in the safe space area and the wobble stools are by far their favorite. The dimmed lights make the classroom more comfortable and peaceful for my students, they dim the room everyday. Students also use the wobble stools every day and take turns on who gets to use them next. The stools definitely make learning a bit more fun. The students get to move while learning. Lastly, the carpet adds to the safe space we have. Students either sit on the couches in the room or sit on the carpet. I also like the images on the carpet of the letters, this allows to practice the alphabet with younger students. Thank you again!”

  • No Mess On My Desk!

    Thank you so much for the colorful rotating pencil holders! We use these materials during group work throughout the day. I have one placed on each kidney table and it has helped keep tables clean and organized. I use these materials during small group instruction so students can have specific items available to them. We recently made Thanksgiving Turkey's and used the scissors and coloring markers to complete the projects.

    My students loved the pencil holders and thought they added color to the room. I previously had clear plastic cups that held pencils, scissors, etc. We will also use these within the next few weeks to complete Christmas Reindeer!”

  • Make It BIG Make It Clear!

    I received my items after the winter break. Originally I had chosen a projector to enlarge images from my computer or play videos but I had to choose another item due to its availability. I chose two Osmo starter kits for the resource room. What a great program this has been. My students love using the Osmo to build on their math skills or phonics! Even my students who normally frown upon phonics learning enjoy playing the phonics and word building games. This program is fun and interactive for all my students. Since I only have two, I currently use it as a center with rotations with my small groups. Thank you donors !”

  • Keep Materials Safe and Neat!

    We received the organizer trays coming back from winter break . Let me say the students were all so excited to see the color organizer trays with their names on them! The trays came in a variety of colors bringing brightness to the room. My students now have their own bin with their own materials that only they touch. Not only does this keep my students clean and safe from current health concerns worldwide, but it also hold them responsible for their own materials. These organizer trays are a great addition to the Resource room and will be part of the room for years to come !”

This special education resource classroom includes students from t-kinder all through fifth grade. Our students face many different challenges and overcome so many obstacles day by day. My students learning disabilities are only a fraction of who they are. I want to provide them the tools and confidence to reach their goals and be the best version of themselves.
