For years, I have been using Scholastic News in my fifth grade classroom to help teach my students about current events going on in the world around them. This year, it is not being funded by our school and I would love to continue our work of learning about the world around us. Learning about current events all around the world helps my students develop critical thinking skills, empathy for others and an awareness of important world events in an age appropriate way. They will use the print and digital editions to read about, analyze and respond to current events.
