The effects of unexpected major changes, loss of loved ones, fear and isolation, increased rates of violence in the home and decreased family resources due to Covid-19 are manifesting in our students' ability to manage stressors of daily life. The resources requested in this project will be useful to facilitate emotion regulation through a variety of movement, sensory, and visual strategies along with practices of mindfulness and deep breathing. Healthy coping strategies need to be explicitly taught, and are not "one size fits all". Having the tools to allow students to feel their feelings safely, and learn to de-escalate and return to learning will positively impact our entire school community.
