The ukuleles are an excellent way to teach many lessons; instrument care and maintenance, responsibility, note reading, rhythm reading, chords, fine motor skills, steady beat, and performance skills/etiquette. The ukuleles will not be taken home by the students, however, there will be many ways they will be able to practice and learn more about the ukulele from home. I have a coworker who will be able to build racks on the wall in my classroom to safely hold the ukuleles and also have them on display. The students will absolutely love it. Learning how to play the ukulele is a skill they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
