A Glitch in the Matrix!
Funded Jan 3, 2024Thank you so much for the generous donations that allowed us to buy a brand new laptop for our class.
This technology will help my students learn by providing them with a newer, faster device. There will fewer glitches in their learning because they won't have to worry about websites taking too long to load. This will also work as an additional resource for any students who's iPad isn't working. Also, we can now use multiple apps simultaneously on our interactive screen.
My students are most excited to start creating digital projects on Google Slides and FlipGrid. The technology helpers in my classroom are especially excited to expand their talents by learning the ins and outs of the new device.
Thank you again for supporting my classroom and my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Colleran

Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for all of your kind and generous donations. So far, this year of STEAM has gotten off to a great start! Each class is incredibly excited to test (and retest) their LEGO chain reaction kits as soon as possible.
Not only are these kits excellent for STEAM challenges, they also provide students with a new outlook on their own toys and other every day objects that can be used for different purposes.
As a first year STEAM teacher, I thank you for your support and look forward to sharing all of their hard work with you!”

Funded Nov 30, 2018Thank you again for so generously donating to our class. My students use their new iPads daily for math, reading, and social studies. We are currently researching China and different partnerships have taken time to find pictures and videos for the class to examine, wonder, and write about.
Additionally, the iPads have been supporting the class in practicing math concepts like multiplication and division on educational websites and apps. Reading has also become more interactive because students can now listen to a story being read to them or read along with an interactive site.
Due to your generosity, more students in my class have access to tools and resources that they need right now. Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Colleran

Funded Mar 30, 2018Since receiving our Cricut, my students have started designing! For Earth Day they worked in teams to create an original invention or idea and presented them to the class. Their inventions were voted on by parents and the winning team will be using the Cricut to actually bring their invention to life! Additionally, the students have been learning about simple machines in science and will use their knowledge to construct a simple machine that can change the ending of a fairy tale they have been writing about.
I cannot wait to see all the incredible ways my students will be using our Cricut!”

Help Us Write Our Names in Ink!
Funded Feb 5, 2018Thank you so much! With the help of your generous donations my class will be able to continue publishing and creating their work in color. This will also help me provide them with classroom games and manipulatives that become so much more engaging when they can see them clearly. Your contributions will have a tremendous affect on our classroom environment and I cannot wait to see it!
Your kindness and generosity are so heartwarming. My class is already imagining the things they can make with our new packs of ink!”

Help Us Beat the Heat!
Funded Apr 19, 2016Dear Donors,
After your generous support last school year, my class was able to enjoy every second without worrying about being overheated or sweaty. I strongly believe this had an effect on their ability to learn and share those last few days as well. Not only did the air conditioner help my class but it helped other classes and teachers get some relief from the 90° temps!
As I begin the upcoming school year I am especially grateful to have a cool room to be in while I spend a week preparing for my new class. I am absolutely positive that my new class of third graders will be just as appreciative of the air conditioner when they come back in September.
Thank you again for being so generous to my class, it is not something we will forget!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Colleran
The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Laptop!
Funded Sep 30, 2015I want to thank every single donor once again for your support and kindness toward my classroom! The kids were thrilled when the boxes arrived to the classroom, and couldn't wait another second for me to open it and set it up. Since then, my students and I have used the laptop and printer every single day. It has transformed the way my class views their learning, and the way I teach.
Since receiving our laptop, my third graders have been able to watch videos and read articles as a whole class, with the help of a projector. Through this work, my class is able to have truly meaningful conversations around the same information. They can now work more interactively with the laptop on the projector, to model how they solved a problem or explain how they arrived at an answer. They now have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of what they are learning in class, while also modeling it for their peers.
In addition to the laptop, the printer has helped me create and print math games, reading and writing charts and posters, and articles for close reading. I can create and print helpful tips and pictures for the students to keep in their notebooks, or make scaffolds that help them complete challenging tasks. The printer has also helped improve parent communication because now I am able to print and send letters home to parents.
This new technology has given students in my class so much more access to the world around them, and allow them to make real world connections to their learning. Thank you again for your generous donations to my students!”

Funded Aug 30, 2015I want to thank every single donor once again for your support and kindness toward my classroom! The kids were thrilled when the box arrived to the classroom, and couldn't wait another second for me to open it and set it up. Since then, my students and I have used the iPad every single day. It has transformed the way my class views their learning, and the way I teach.
Since receiving our iPad, my third graders have become much more interested in discovering new information through research. My students are quick to ask each other questions during group work and then say "Let's look up the answer on the iPad!". They now have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of what they are learning in class, while also building up their skills in subjects like math and reading with apps like Front Row Ed. Students are able to use this app for enrichment purposes, specifically, after completing their math work. In social studies, my class is currently using the iPad to research the country of Brazil. They are using apps, like National Geographic for Kids, to learn about the climate, terrain, culture, and people of Brazil.
The iPad has also helped me in assessing the student's work through apps like Plickers. During math the students are able to answer a multiple choice question, hold up their card, and I can use the iPad to scan their cards and immediately post the data on our projector. This leads to the class having conversations about how and why students got the wrong or right answer, and helps them learn from their own mistakes.
This new technology will give students in my class so much more access to the world around them, and allow them to make real world connections to their learning. Thank you again for your generous donations to my students!”
