Adding a Spanish library to the classroom would benefit my students in a number of ways. Reading helps students see new vocabulary in-context which has been proven to aid in language acquisition. The easy readers will help challenge my new language learners, and the higher level books will challenge my native speakers. Not only will these books aid in Spanish acquisition but it will help my students literacy abilities. Reading and comprehension can be challenging. These books will support their language skills at home as well. If a book interests them, they may take it home to read at their own pace.
