As a reading teacher, my passion is to instill love and joy of reading in my students. Almost on a daily basis, I read aloud to my students which exposes them to different genres and helps them make connections to what we are learning in class. Having my own class collection, will facilitate having a variety of reading sources from different genres which they can use during independent reading time. Because students use their reading skills across all contents, it is imperative that as their reading teacher, I help them to further strengthen those skills.
