My students spent a lot of time on the carpet between morning meetings, social skills, read-alouds, whole-group literacy and math, and free time. I strive to make carpet time a FUN time because it is a very important time for student engagement. This carpet represents diversity, inclusion, and kindness. These three things are the main focus of my classroom atmosphere, as I strive to make every single student feel loved and important. When students are called to the carpet, they will see characters who look like them and words that teach love and kindness.
