  • Curl Up With a Cup of Cocoa

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

It’s cold here in New Jersey and many of my kids don’t have coats or warm blankets to snuggle up with when they get home.

Imagine them curling up with a blanket and hot chocolate while spending time with family.

Again, thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCann Kirwan

  • Drink Up!

    Funded May 3, 2022

My students have benefited tremendously from your generous donation of the water station project. With over 84 cases of water, my students were able to attend a fun day outside where they needed water to remain hydrated. The excitement and thrill to experience this day outside of the classroom was so wonderful.

Part of the water was also used for summer school where students required hydration to encourage learning in the hot summer months.

Finally, the water was used inside my classroom as daily hydration since the water fountains in the school have remained locked since Covid.

Your generosity and kindness reach more students than you can ever imagine. Thank you again donors!”

    Ms. McCann Kirwan

  • Mask Up!

    Funded Mar 4, 2022

My students come very low income families where parents can not afford new masks each day. Also, my school is grossly underfunded and does not have the means to provide a clean mask to each student every day.

Many of my students come to school wearing dirty masks, masks that are torn and are turned away from classrooms because they lack a mask.

Because of your generous donation, I can now provide my students with masks when needed to prevent the spread of Covid throughout the community.

My students and I are extremely grateful to you.”

  • Cold Days, Warm Tummies

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

My students come from low income families where often times they have no coats to keep them warm. My students must walk up to 2 and half miles to school each day in the rain, cold and snow.

When they arrive at school, they must stay outside until the bell rings because of Covid restrictions. They so often come to my classroom very cold.

By providing hot drinks, my students can come in, grab a K-cup and make a drink of their choice as a means to warm their hands and more importantly, their minds.

Thank you so much for generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCann Kirwan

  • Hydration Station

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

Since Covid, the water fountains at our school have been off limits to students. Because we are an under funded district, there is no money in the district to provide bottles of water for my students.

The masks have also created a greater need for water as my students come in thirsty due to wearing the masks all day.

Water is an essential element for our brains to function clearly all day and is nourishment for the body. When they are hydrated and have access to water, they are more willing to complete assignments with clarity and enthusiasm.

Thank again for your generous donation.”

  • Around the World Reading

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

My classroom lacked the reading materials that my English Sheltered Learners needed to understand World History. Most of my students are reading on a first grade level due to the language barrier they face moving from other countries to United States and often times not having any formalized instruction for years prior to coming to my classroom.

By providing my students with lower level lexile books, they are able to read and experience World History on a level they understand.

It is so gratifying to hear them read aloud the pages from the book and then ask if they can have more minutes to read.

Your generous donation has made this possible. Thank you again for your consideration of my students and classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McCann Kirwan

My students attend a school district that is under funded. They lack the essential, classroom supplies that every student should have made available to them: pencils, pencil sharpeners, tissues and water. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. The chart paper will be used to create anchor charts that reflect the discussions we have during our mini-lessons. The world globes will allow students to visualize the areas of the world that we are learning. The cell phone storage area will allow students to have a safe place to store their cell phones and prevent them from becoming distracted throughout the lesson. The mobile laptop desk will allow students to present their projects to their peers in front of the class while the headsets will allow students to work independently without distracting their other classmates. Finally, the ball chairs will be used as an incentive for students that are self-directed and are achieving their individualized goals.
