Imaginative and creative play is how children learn about the world. During imaginative play, children manipulate materials, express themselves verbally and non-verbally, plan (intentionally or unintentionally), act, interact, react, and try different roles. These materials will help my students improve concentration, self-expression, problem-solving, imagination, and creativity. It will also help with their fine motor skills and learn things such as colors, shapes, and the alphabet. These tools will help the children learn in a very fun and creative way! We call this choice time, where the students choose how they want to learn/explore. Student choice leads to increased engagement and empowerment. It inspires students to want to learn new things. It allows students to show what they know, but to take it so much further. Student choice creates an environment where students discover what they want to learn.
