There has been a ton of research that shows that students who have the opportunity to move around in the classroom and who have various seating options, do better with focus and learning in the classroom. I want to provide my students the opportunity to do the same in my classroom and with help from you, I can. Most students in my school come from low-income households where they aren't exposed to resources in schools that have more funding. The goal for flexible seating is for students to have an opportunity to focus better in a classroom setting without causing distractions among their peers. The carpet and pillows will provide a comfortable spot for students to read in the classroom library and helps them find a different alternative when they are unable to focus on their desks. The stools I requested are also another great seating option in case there are some students who are not able to focus on their spots. Flexible seating is also focused on catering to individual students that may have ADHD or other attention deficit disorders in my classroom next year. I want to provide my students with the same opportunities as their peers and other schools because they are so worth it.
