I am requesting a platform truck which my students will use to transport the floor to all rehearsals and performances. Indoor percussion marries elements of music performance, marching, and theater; thus, the activity is often referred to as percussion theater. Through access of equipment such as frames, carts, and a floor mat, the band director has the necessary tools to create a show demanding versatility in all aspects of the arts. The students perform a 10-minute show using only dance, music, marching, and acting in order to portray the concept. Students are also involved in the creative process of the show having to create paintings, props, dances in order to enhance the design of the show. We have been fortunate to have been granted a floor from the foundation but will need this cart for means of transportation. The students will be able to transport the floor to all rehearsals and performances which is vital to the design of the show. This will also allow for us to include more students in the organization by being granted a dolly to transport more instruments.
