This project will supply enough yoga balls and drum sticks for 60 students to begin implementing Cardio Drumming. Cardio Drumming combines music, drumming, and fitness in a way that is both fun and interactive. For the Cardio Drumming unit, the music and PE teachers will combine classes to facilitate a co-teaching cross-curricular approach that exhibits the strengths of all teachers involved. Students will thrive from being in an environment that is inclusive of all skills and talents. This curriculum will address concepts from music such as drumming, rhythm, and ensemble performing and ideas from PE such as cardio endurance, fitness, and fine motor skills. Social distancing is easy to achieve with Cardio Drumming, allowing students to remain safely distanced while engaging in a dynamic cardio workout.
