These materials will make a huge difference in my students' learning by creating a fun and inviting environment where they can dive into stories independently and alongside their peers. This will be my first year teaching, which is why it is important to me that I am able to get the resources I need in order to create a space that inspires and excites my students! Kindergarten is an amazing and challenging time where early literacy thrives. During this time, children are constantly growing, absorbing new information, developing new skills, putting in hard work, discovering their interests, becoming more independent, and curious. Literature is an important aspect of everything students will be doing and learning throughout the year. Developing early literacy skills makes it easier for children to learn to read, which is an essential skill for success in school, and later in life. Literacy is not only used to help students learn to read and write, but to navigate many different subjects and topics, such as social emotional and wellness, math, science, song, holidays and celebrations, diversity, and everything in between. Part of the challenge is getting students interested and engaged in books, which is why I want a neat classroom library, and cozy reading corner. This space will provide students with a focused spot to access a variety of stories for all interests in an organized and accessible way. With your donation, you will be supporting my students by providing them with a dedicated reading space where they can immerse themselves in the world of literature as they learn to read.
