Hands on and Paper Activities in Language Learning
Funded Nov 6, 2023Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I received reams of colored paper and regular white paper. Our school district seems to be phasing out copier machines and colored copies.
We, as educators, know that best practices involve giving students hands on activities and opportunities to write notes and be creative with the material that they are learning.
By receiving paper that can be used for various reasons, students will be able to make: study booklets, crafts for holidays and cultural events, such as el Dia de los Muertos. They play games, write children's storybooks, and booklets with notes about books that we read. They also make flip books to help organize the notes that they take during the year. Some photos are included.
By being able to supply the students with materials they need to do activities and take notes, they are less stressed out about supplying their own materials. Many cannot, or do not.”

Funded Oct 18, 2021Thank you for the generous donation of art supplies so my Spanish 3 students could paint in their art unit. They replicated the work of a famous artist.
This is a fun project for the students as most of them take very challenging academic classes. They don't get to do fun projects in most of their classes, so it was exciting for them to see that we were painting in class and actually participating in our art studies in Spanish!
I did have some materials leftover and some that can be used for the long term. I have used the colored pencils and markers for many other lessons. One thing the students like to do are coloring and drawing activities that incorporate grammar or vocabulary that we are studying, so these materials will be put to good use for a long time.
Again we thank you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Nevada Department of Education.Spanish Class Mystery Pictures and Boom Cards
Funded May 9, 2021My students love the digital option of homework instead of practice worksheets. These new products keep learning and practice fun for them as they add such a variety to the types of activities that we do in the classroom.
The Boom Cards have the students totally engaged in the activity and I am assured they are working to get the correct answers, as the program only allows the student to pass to the next card once the first is correct.
The Mystery Picture activities are also enjoyed by the students as they work to get the correct answers to reveal the mystery picture. One piece of the puzzle populates each time a student answers correctly.
Thank you so much for contributing to these fun online activities for Spanish class!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Barbarita
