For the next school year, I am moving to third grade! In third grade it is not only a huge year for curriculum, but a year to start fostering more initiative in the classroom. I would like to be able to provide materials to inspire academic improvement and encourage students to start taking charge of their own learning. Studies have shown that students need a variety of ways to access learning as not every student learns the same way. These items are a way for me to not only inspire academic growth, but to create a welcome learning environment for all learning types. The items I've added to list are meant to become hands on math centers to support visual and tactile learners, books to encourage more organic reading interests, and classroom organization for both myself and my students to easily find things. Moving from fifth grade to third grade is major move and students at this age need ways to start growing academically and I'd like to model a life skill like organization for them. Donating these items to my classroom will give me a great place to start the next year with and get my third grade experience off on the right foot.
