  • Exciting Books for Excited Readers!

    Funded Dec 22, 2016

Thank you so very, very much for your generous donations! I am so excited to read these books with and to my students. I am beyond grateful that you would reach in your pockets to help a teacher and students you don't know and we will definitely cherish and enjoy our new resources.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Winstead

  • Common Core Aligned Classroom Books

    Funded Aug 20, 2013

My students love all of our beautiful new books so much! I've saved most of them and waited to share them with the students when we have gotten to the appropriate unit for each of the books. Every time we get to a new ELA unit and I start sharing these books, their excitement and enthusiasm for whatever we're learning about is amplified, knowing we get to read new books they have yet to see. After reading them to the class, I always leave them out and they all request to reread them over and over.

I am so grateful to have these new resources when planning out my lessons and its been wonderful that I have so many books that I can now share with the other first grade classes. Thank you so very, very much for your generosity.”

  • Math Manipulatives for Kinders

    Funded Mar 12, 2012

Thank you so very much for your generous donation. My students have enjoyed every bit of the manipulatives and learning tools we received.

My kindergarteners love the elephant chain link and counting as well as the number rubbings and have done a great job practicing making all sorts of patterns in the pattern trays. Their math skills are growing and they're having a delightful time! Perhpas my class' favorite of all things we received were the alphabet stamps and washable ink. Who knew stamps could be so fun and exciting? We've been using the stamps to practice stamping all the sight words we've been learning and through this fun practicing, I've really seen their sight word skills grow. I've loaned the stamps to another teacher a couple of times and her students also adored using them.

My students know that we received all these fun activities from some very special people so they've taken great care to show appreciation through being careful with the supplies.

Thank you again, for using your funds to spark new enthusiasm in my students and provide learning tools that we would have never been able to enjoy without your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Winstead

I have thirteen precious, loving, and hungry to learn First Grade students. Our school is Title 1 with over 90% receiving free or reduced lunch. Many of my student do not have their own crayons or pencils at home or parents that speak English who can help them with their homework. When they walk through that classroom door it is my job to teach and inspire them using all that I have until they step on those buses.
