Funded Sep 18, 2024There is no easy move. Over the summer, we moved our preschool classroom into a well-used room that needed to be refreshed. A new paint job, floor cleaning, and organization tools were required to promote a clean and inviting learning environment.
Every day, I am blessed to welcome eager young learners. They are so excited to play and learn within the classroom. Some students are sensitive, so the light covers are an excellent addition. The collapsible safety cones have been used to define outdoor boundaries while the sports ball cage is useful in bringing our play equipment in and out of the classroom. After they leave, we use the cordless vacuum and cleaning tools you provided to keep everything looking clean and tidy. Additionally, the Teacher Pay Teacher gift certificates are used to purchase lessons for students and the office supplies are used every day to keep my endless paperwork organized.
Undoubtedly, it is through your partnership and donations that my students receive the best in their educational program. Personally, I am blessed by your generosity and support during this move. It has helped to brighten my spirits by having a clean room!”

Funded Jan 30, 2024I can attest to the fact that "All Kids Can Cook!" We have had a few successful opportunities to have kids cook. We made applesauce and the children were amazed with the results. They all participated in exploring the ingredients, chopping apples with safe, plastic knives, stirring, and watching the apples simmer and cook.
The donations you gave have inspired us to do more cooking! Having the right tools like the mixing bowls, microwave, mixers, and electric skillets encourage our class to participate in tasteful sensory lessons that look, smell, feel, and taste so good. Everyone is interested and are involved in the process of learning!
Mahalo for your very generous contributions! You are loved and appreciated from our Lahaina Teachers and Students!”

A Holiday Wish...
Funded Dec 13, 2023Thank you for my Holiday Wish donations! Everything you gave have been remarkable contributions to my classroom! First of all, the Clax cart has been an amazing asset for picking up our lunches and so much more. It is very sturdy and keeps the food from dripping out of the paper plates. It has increased our capacity for so much more. Additionally, I plan to use this cart to move my classroom supplies to our new room in the fall. Secondly, the binding machine is amazing! I can use it to make educational books and special books made by my students! It has great use for keepsakes that parents will enjoy forever. Lastly, the math dices are great to replace the old, broken ones that I had. We love to play math games and these dices are sure to last me another 5-10 years!
These items were some of the wonderful donations sent. My students and I are so grateful for everything! It is such a blessing to us!!!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!”

Build It and They Will Come!
Funded Dec 5, 2023My students loved the items that were donated! First off, they always love Potato Head toys. Interestingly, the Yamma and Yoppa set sparked their enthusiasm because many of my students live with their grandparents, so this seemed relevant. Foam and cardboard building blocks are easy for preschoolers to figure out and reconfigure. It is always a hit!
Additionally, the Stop and Go game, after being modeled, is a wonderful game for our students to play with their peers and make friends. It teaches them to vary their movement between running, and tip-toeing while following instructions.
I want to thank you for these STEM-building supplies and games! They truly are great additions to our classroom with meaningful lessons involved!”

Funded Nov 19, 2023My students have greatly benefitted from your donations. Let me describe the impact. First of all, the calming kit and the swing sets have been valuable tools for my students to receive opportunities to calm themselves. We have had lessons in deep breathing and taking the time we need to calm ourselves and be our best!
Secondly, the big books have been a great addition to our library. It is so nice to have new books with crispy pages! My Five Senses and The Gingerbread Boy were great additions the students enjoyed during our holiday discussions and lessons. We can't wait to read more. Also, the kids are having a blast using the Viewfinders and catching the butterflies with the Elefun game.
Thirdly, the Sprocket was used to make the cute gingerbread ornaments with the children's faces. I loved how easy it was to print the pictures and use the self-stick paper to attach to the gingerbread ornaments. Now each family has a beautiful keepsake they can keep for years to come!
Everything is so beautiful and my students spend hours on end with these wonderful donations! Thank you so much for making their dreams come true :)”

Funded Oct 16, 2023Since we returned to our classrooms, our students have been enthusiastically enjoying the books, STEM projects, and new Big Books that you have donated. In November, we began our Gingerbread Man unit where the children read and reread the story, sang songs, counted, and built their own Gingerbread Man. They made gingerbread ornaments that they gave to their parents for Christmas. They also made a sink or float boat out of popsicle sticks and foam balls that symbolized the Gingerbread Man floating in the water when being carried by the fox. The next project will be making a Snowman out of Playdoh, then out of foam balls, sticks, eyes, and nose. All of these items were generously donated by you and becoming meaningful story themes and creative lessons with multiple learning experiences. Puppets are used to engage students in the stories and encourage them to comprehend and retell the stories. We will get into the life cycles very soon.
I appreciate your generosity to enrich my students learning environment with quality items. I am forever grateful to you! Thank you so much!!!”

Funded Mar 6, 2023My students are very excited about the items that you donated for our classroom. Right away my students played with the PlayDoh, sensory toys, wind-up toys and bubble solution mix. These are items that we use everyday! Additionally, they love the communication toy used to label letters, animals, and objects. I am so pleased with the noise canceling headphones and the trampoline. These items help to filter out distractions and keep students attentive and regulated. The printer ink is always needed to print beautiful classroom worksheets for my students.
Everything that you have given to our classroom is truly a blessing! Everyday, my students are excited to come to school and all that you gave addresses their fine motor, communication, and cognitive needs. Through our Hungry Little Caterpillar Story, my students are learning to describe the metamorphosis of the caterpillar through the use of the Play Doh activity (picture attached). This activity is also used as a pre-writing skill as they trace the picture of the caterpillar and butterfly.
My students are learning so much because you are making a difference in their lives! Thank you so very much for caring and for your contribution to my students!”

Funded Mar 11, 2022The supplies and equipment have been very useful and effective learning tools in my classroom! The students I serve require many opportunities throughout the day to increase their fine motor and gross motor skills. By giving the soccer net, balls, bike scooters, and movement games, my students have more tools to practice movement which is a skill that has whole brain effects!
The slant board, vertical easel, and visual timers are used daily. Students are able to more easily attend to my individual instruction, practice their upper body fine motor task more functionally, and keep track of their work and play times with the use of the magnetic visual timer. They are rewarded with the fidget toys you so graciously donated which is used as a tool to positively reinforce student progress and validate their performance.
Lastly, the felts for story time are extremely effective. I have learned that my students become active listeners with use of educational manipulatives. Retelling the story, sequencing, taking turns, and identifying characters of the story can all be addressed when the students can participate in story time using these felts. The felts can be left on the easel for students to practice retelling stories for weeks after the story has been told and they really love it!!!
Thank you so much for all that you have donated to our preschool class. I feel blessed, equipped, and very supported by all of you! Aloha and A Hui Hou (Until we meet again...)”

Go, Kids, Grow!
Funded Aug 18, 2021Our classroom was in need of some safety and classroom supplies. With your generosity and financial contributions, we were able to receive door alarms and shop keepers bells have been useful to alert us when we have visitors and when the children step outside. This gives the teaching staff peace of mind to know that our children our safe at all times. Our colorful sunburst rug has been extremely useful to promote learning, dancing, and relaxing. It complements our room, making our room appear warm and inviting. The outdoor play equipment like the swing and the blocks promote hours of entertainment for the children. They just love it! The children look forward to reading the books that were donated, such as, "Happy Birthday to You," by Dr. Seuss and "No David" series bring endless joys during every day and special occasions when celebrating someone's birthday or reflecting about the choices that we make. If you had read my previous posts, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" is a definite keeper, a literacy lesson that I will continue to pursue at the beginning of the year. The interest in these books have worked to promote English Language Arts and literacy skills in our young readers.
I really can't thank you enough for the blessings that you have provided me and my classroom. There are many environmental, learning, and individual benefits from every one of these. This investment towards our students' education will continue to promote and progress their learning for many years to come. BIG Mahalo and Thank you to all of you!!!”
