I have successfully made it through my first year of teaching! After overcoming the first year, I have recently been offered a new classroom that comes with its very own science lab. My young scientists will be habituating an outdated science lab and my goal is to revive the lab to meet their educational and exploratory needs. A passion of mine is to encourage students to pursue STEM careers, and with your help I plan to engage Science Learners early on, in their 7th grade year. Your funding is necessary for the purchase of goggles, scales, and thermometers to impact their experience of scientific tools for precision based measure and laboratory safety. Not only will these tools enhance their educational experience and inspire students to engage with the sciences, they will also act practically. We start with our thermal unit in August; students will have to learn how to measure liquid's mass and temperature to solve the question, "How can containers keep stuff from warming up or cooling down?" We will also use these awesome tools during Unit 2: Chemical Reactions, where students come together to solve the phenomenon, "How can we make something new that was not there before?"
