Hearing Toward Math Success
Funded Jul 16, 2022I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful donation to my classroom. The earbuds is a necessity for all students who use our math program (Zearn). All students use reading programs such as Myon and Epic. The students who have the computer read to them have the benefit of the earbuds as well. There are many more programs we use that require the use of earbuds: learnzillion(ELA), phd science(science), lexia(ELA), google read & write(all subjects), edulastic(all subjects), and LEAP(standardized testing from the state).
The earbuds also helped the students concentrate by reducing background noise. This also helped the students calm down and not feel as anxious. This also reduced the noise level in the classroom so other students can concentrate, Hearing the audio through earbuds sounded better than listening at a low volume without earbuds with their computer. Thanks to your generous donation. I was able to successfully implement all our programs that involved audio.”
With gratitude,

Funded Aug 17, 2021This project has allowed my students to not have to stress about not having markers or headphones. Some students have mentioned that they've asked their parents to buy headphones and they just never purchase them. The students have also said that their parents don't have a vehicle and cannot get to to the store.
We also have included several more programs that require the use of headphones, Moby Max , Reflex, Phd science(online version) and Frax. The students have quickly grasped the basics of each program and they can quickly go from one program to the next.
By having headphones to use students can increase their focus because we often have to use a 50/50 model. Having markers have students to use their boards more. The boards have also been useful for small group intervention as well. The students hold their boards up and I can quickly gain feedback. Half the class is doing one thing while the other is expected to wear headphones to block out the noise of the other group which allows the student to focus better. I have some students who are also sensitive to noise and it makes them anxious. Headphones are also a solution for that.
The headphones and markers have been a much needed necessity for my classroom. I cannot express my gratitude with having these things donated.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Harris
