Reading is a crucial skill. Endless knowledge can be found in books, and teaching a child to read is teaching them about the world around them. The purpose of the book selections I chose will help create a multicultural library. We will read these books together and have conversations about inclusion and the importance of doing our best to understand those around us. The materials will be used in class either as a whole class or individually. The purpose of this project is to help all of my students feel represented in my classroom. Everything that will be donated will help build a diverse reading center along with diverse books, and a rug to gather to read together.
