  • Creating Readers

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

The students were excited to read the many books they received through your donation. They clapped and were looking forward to reading an actual book instead of a book on the computer. That says a lot!

This was an excellent way for these students to finish off the year. It was also a great starting point for the long-term sub teaching these children and who plans to return next year as a teacher!

I am always grateful for the support my students receive from DonorsChoose, and I am honored by your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sya

  • Eat, Read, and Be Outside

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you for your donations. It took us several weeks to put the table together because of the availability of people to help build the table (due to Corona Virus), but it is finally together. Unfortunately, due to the social distancing requirements, the table has only received a little bit of use. I'm hoping that over the next few months, teachers will be able to take advantage of this wonderful resource.

We are so lucky and grateful to have people who care so much about our children and are willing to give in order to make school a place where they can learn, feel safe, and love attending. We appreciate your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sya

We have been indoors for a year and even going outdoors to play has limitations because of social distancing. This is the first step to building a beautiful garden for students and teachers to eat and read while enjoying the beautiful weather. A picnic table will give us a place to sit and enjoy the weather while reading a book. We have an underutilized and overgrown courtyard that we can begin beautifying with a table and seats for all to enjoy. I can imagine students eating and reading or using the garden as a stage for poetry and reading with others. Over time, I would like to get more tables and seating, but this will be a start.
