Our SEEd Science lessons are great ways for students to develop a phenomenon (idea) and move through experiences, reasoning, modeling, and communicating what they learned through their processes. These items will help the 4th-grade students understand energy transfer, light, and reflection, as well as force and motion and energy reactions. The students work to build solar ovens that will use the thermometers to test the heat that can be generated as well as measure the heat that comes off of a popcorn machine. The marbles and balls will help them see actions and reaction in our force and motion lessons. These materials will be used in our classroom setting. Our lessons focus on student-led science experiments and investigations as they work in pairs, trios, and small groups to learn together. These items are great to increase inquiry-based learning and help to build scientific thinking. They will use these items each year and can go a long way to help the students better understand these concepts and give them hands-on learning and creating experiences. Our lessons focus on what the students see around them and how they can learn from all the world around them.
