The goal of this project is teaching reading through current and relevant materials. This book will culminate a semester long project on finding your voice and promoting change. The text will give the students a chance to interact with the text. I will also provide word to word learning. With texts like the Watson's go to Birmingham, Turning 15 on Freedom Road, and this one, the students can see individuals like themselves promote change in society by organizing and protesting injustices. This empowerment is critical in today's society. Teaching appropriate ways to speak out is needed more than ever .
