Students with access to the resource room will utilize these math and reading tools to better understand complex math concepts, problem solving, phonics, and early reading and writing skills. These manipulatives will also foster independence within my students allowing them to use the tools on their own to support their learning. When students use a variety of methods and tools to support learning a concept, they are able to retain information better; having a variety of tools that can support student learning will foster long term retention of math and early reading concepts.
